FAQ

What is Destash?: We are a marketplace for knitters and crocheters to buy and sell yarn from their stashes.
Who can join?: Destash is invite-only right now. We’re opening up soon to US users!
What can I sell?: Yarn, yarn, and more yarn! Sell it as a single skein, a few items, or a whole lot.

Buying

Is it safe to buy from someone I don’t know?: Payments are processed by Stripe and held until your order arrives, so your payments are protected. If a seller doesn’t ship, you’re refunded automatically.
What’s the service fee?: 5% of the item price plus $0.50, with a $0.75 minimum. This will be shown before you pay.
What if something goes wrong with my order?: Please message the seller first; most things get sorted that way! If you can’t work it out, open a claim and we’ll step in. Your payment is held while it’s resolved.
How does shipping work?: You’ll see the actual cost at checkout and pay exactly that. Some sellers offer free shipping if your purchase is $20 or more.

Selling

What does it cost to sell?: 8% of the item price. Nothing on shipping unless you choose to offer free shipping for purchases worth $20 or more.
When do I get paid?: A few days (usually three) after your order is delivered. If the buyer marks their order as received, you can also be paid sooner.
How do I ship?: Tap Ship this Order directly in app and we’ll email you a prepaid label. Print it, attach it, drop it off. Easy :)
